SingTel senior executives meet Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva

Senior executives of Singapore Telecommunications Limited (), led by Group Chief Executive Officer, Ms Chua Sock Koong, met with Thai Prime Minister today, to discuss developments in the telecommunications industry in Thailand.

SingTel has been a long-term strategic investor in Advanced Info Service (AIS), Thailand’s leading mobile operator, since 1999. During the meeting, Ms Chua and Mr Allen Lew, SingTel CEO Singapore, thanked the Prime Minister for the opportunity to meet him and expressed appreciation for his attention to the developments in the telecommunications industry and his assurance that there will be fair treatment for all operators.

The SingTel Group’s footprint covers more than a population of  2 billion across  Asia and Africa, serving 368  million mobile customers in 25 countries. In addition to  A IS, SingTel ’s subsidiaries and associates  include  Optus in Australia, Globe Telecom in the Philippines, India’s Bharti Airtel and PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) of Indonesia.
